Chelsea Schminke – Van Horne, IA
Parents: Al and Kandy Schminke
Biography:
Chelsea Schminke is a repeat winner
with the Grand Champion 4-H Market
Lamb for the second year. She has
been exhibiting market lambs for
eight years and is a seven year
veteran at the Iowa State Fair.
Chelsea is a member of the LeRoy
Luckies 4-H Club in Benton County
where she exhibits sheep, hogs,
visual arts, and home improvement.
She has also served as Benton County
Fair Princess. At Benton Community
High School where Chelsea will be a
senior this fall, she is active in
dance team, FFA, chair of Benton FFA
Spring Sheep Show, and keeps stats
for the wrestling team. After
graduation next year, Chelsea is
looking at earning a degree in
elementary education. |

GRAND CHAMPION FFA MARKET LAMB
Cody Schminke – Van Horne, IA
Parents: Al and Kandy Schminke
Biography:
Cody Schminke ends his FFA career on
a winning note by exhibiting the
Grand Champion FFA Market Lamb for
the second year in a row. He was
also part of the 2007 Sale of
Champions with his Reserve Champion
FFA Market Hog. As a member of the
Benton FFA Chapter he has shown
sheep, swine, woodworking, and auto
CAD design. Cody transferred from
Black Hawk East and is now a senior
at Iowa State University in Ag
Systems Technology. Cody is active
in the Block and Bridle Club, Swine
Interest and Sheep Interest Groups
at Iowa State. He has served as the
co-chair of the Block and Bridle
Lamb Sale and Pig Show. This past
summer Cody did an internship at ADM
Grain. He also finds time to work
with youth in 4-H and FFA and do
river clean-up. |

RESERVE CHAMPION FFA MARKET LAMB
Dani Berry – Sac City, IA
Parents: Keith and Shelli Berry
Biography:
Dani Berry has been exhibiting sheep
since she was two-years-old and has
participated in the Iowa State Fair
for eleven years. She is a member of
the East Sac FFA Chapter in Sac
County where her major projects have
been livestock showing and judging.
During summers and college breaks
for the past four years she has
found time to work at the Loring
Hospital in the lab. Her home raised
Reserve Champion FFA Market Lamb
weighed in at 132.5 lbs. and is
named “Dorothy” in honor of Dani’s
great-grandmother who passed away
last November. Dani will be a senior
at Iowa State University this fall
and is majoring in Health and Human
Performance. Dani says “I have had
the thrill of being in the Sale of
Champions eight out of the eleven
years I have shown here. Thank you
for such an awesome experience!” |
