Grand Champion 4-H Broiler Pen
Sierra Pruiett, Chariton, IA
Parents: Joe and Deana McDonough
Biography:
Sierra Pruiett of Chariton captured
the Grand Champion 4-H Market
Broiler banner in her first year of
exhibiting broiler pens. As a member
of the English Strivers 4-H Club in
Lucas County Sierra has also had
projects in market beef, market
goats, dairy goats, bucket calf,
horse, rabbit, cow/calf and breeding
beef. She has exhibited her breeding
beef at the Iowa State Fair for two
years. As a seventh grader, Sierra
is active in soccer, basketball,
volleyball, softball, MathBee and
the Soar Program. She also belongs
to a youth group at her church. In
her spare time, Sierra likes to do
woodworking, ride horses, show
cattle and read. |

Reserve Champion 4-H Broiler Pen
Kristin Alex Sporrer, Manning, IA
Parents: Lyle and Carolyn Sporrer
Biography:
Alex Sporrer exhibited the Reserve
Champion 4-H Market Broilers at the
2008 Iowa State Fair. Alex is a
member of the Aspinwall Achievers
4-H Club in Crawford County where he
has carried market broilers and
swine projects for three years.
Sporrer will be in the seventh grade
this fall at IKM-Manning Community
School where he will be busy with
football and basketball. Alex’s
community activities include selling
poppy’s, kids against hunger and
clean up at the county fair. |
