Grand Champion 4-H Market Steer
Tyler Faber, Sioux Center, IA
Parents: Dr. David and Kay Faber
Biography:
Tyler Faber exhibited this year’s
Grand Champion 4-H Market Steer
which weighed in at 1,310 lb. Tyler
is a memberof the Western Go Getters
4-H Club in Sioux County and has
been exhibiting market beef and
breeding heifers for seven years.
Faber will be a junior at Sioux
Center Community High School this
fall. His activities there include
basketball, track and band. Tyler
also serves as treasurer of his FFA
Chapter. After graduating from high
school Tyler plans to pursue an
education in medicine. |

Reserve Champion 4-H Market Steer
Rebecca Freeman, Ogden, IA
Parents: John and Teri Freeman
Biography:
The 2008 Reserve Grand Champion 4-H
Market Steer was exhibited by
Rebecca Freeman from Boone County.
Rebecca earned this honor with her
1,305 lb. entry. She has been
exhibiting beef projects at the Iowa
State Fair for seven years and is a
member of the Bluff Creek Wranglers
4-H Club in Boone County.
Volleyball, basketball, golf and
swimming will keep Rebecca active as
a junior at Southeast Webster-Grand
High School in Burnside. Rebecca
says she doesn’t have time for a
summer job as she keeps busy working
with her beef and swine projects. If
she has any spare
time, she enjoys golfing. |

Parents: Tim and Kim Grimm
Biography:
Ashlee Grimm has been exhibiting
market beef for nine years and
earned Grand Champion 4-H Market
Heifer at the 2008 Iowa State Fair
with her 1,250 lb. entry. She has
been very active in her Iowa County
4-H club with projects in market
beef, horse, woodworking, foods and
photography. At English Valley High
School she was involved in cross
country, basketball, track and
softball. This fall Ashlee will be
enrolling in college at the
University of Northern Iowa.
She plans to major in business. |

Reserve Champion 4-H Market Heifer*
Mandy Kohlhaas, LuVerne, IA
Parents: Allan and Shelly Kohlhaas
Biography:
Mandy Kohlhaas’s 1,295 lb. entry
earned her the honors of Reserve
Champion 4-H Market Heifer at this
year’s IowaState Fair. This is
Mandy’s second time in the winner’s
circle. She exhibited the Champion
4-H Market Heifer in 2007. Mandy is
active in the Riverdale Rustlers 4-H
Club in Kossuth County. She will be
a senior at Bishop Garrigan High
School this fall. She will be busy
participating in basketball,
volleyball, softball and golf.
Kohlhaas was a member of The 2007
Champion State Golf Team and was
fifth place individual golfer. Mandy
is kept busy at the family grain
farm and cow/calf operation. She
enjoys golfing and hanging out with
friends in her spare time. |
