15-year-old Chelsea Keninger of
Ackley captured the Grand Champion FFA Market Hog honor. This is
her first year exhibiting at the
Iowa State Fair. Chelsea will be a
sophomore this fall at AGWSR High
School where she competes in
cross-country, track and field, and
basketball. As a member of the
AGWSR FFA, she participates in
livestock and soil judging, conduct
of meetings and swine and

The Reserve Champion 4-H Market Hog
is a 280-lb barrow named Junior,
exhibited by Cody Schminke
of Van Horne. This is Cody’s tenth
year exhibiting at the Iowa State
Fair. He is a member of the
Benton FFA, where he serves as past
president. A sophomore at Black Hawk
East Campus in Kewanee,
Illinois, Cody is majoring in
engineering and animal science. In
his spare time, he enjoys working
with
youth who are involved in the
National Junior Swine Association. |

Market Hog. Dan is 15 and will
be a freshman this fall at Rock
Valley High School where he’s active
in football, wrestling, track and
vocals. He’s a member of the Rolling
River 4-H Club and his church youth
group. Dan also works part time
at the local farmer’s elevator. |

15-year-old Rebecca Freeman of Ogden
has brought ome the Reserve
Champion 4-H Market Hog title.
This freshman at Southeast
Webster–Grand High School in
Burnside participates in volleyball,
basketball and golf. She’s a member
of the Bluff Creek Wranglers 4-H
Club in Boone and her projects
include beef, swine, food and
nutrition, and clothing. When she’s
not taking care of her swine and
beef
projects, you’ll most likely find
her shopping, swimming, riding
4-wheelers or with her two corgi
dogs. |
