Champion 4-H Broiler Pen - $4,000
Daniell Darbyshire, New London
Biography:
In her second year exhibiting at the
Iowa State Fair, Daniell took home
Grand Champion 4-H Broiler Pen
honors, with a pen of broilers
weighing 36.1 lbs. Last year,
Daniell received reserve honors.
Daniell is 17 and will be a senior
this fall at New London High School
where she competes in track,
throwing the discus and shot put,
and volunteers at a local hospital.
She’s a member of the New London
Lads and Lassies 4-H club and also
exhibits cattle on the county level.
In the future, Daniell plans to go
into the pediatric nursing field. |

Reserve Champion
4-H Broiler Pen - $4,000
Kyle Arkfeld, Earling
Biography:
12-year-old Kyle Arkfeld of Earling
took home the Reserve Grand Champion
4-H Broiler Pen title with his pen
weighing 44.38 lbs. This is Kyle’s
first time exhibiting broilers and
his first time exhibiting at the
Iowa State Fair. He’ll be in seventh
grade this fall at Harlan Community
Middle School where he competes in
baseball, basketball and football.
He’s a member of the Lincoln Leaders
4-H club in Shelby and his other
projects include restoring a pitcher
pump. Kyle is also active in his
church. |
